What I Offer

A black textured background with a gold illustration of a blueberry plant, including leaves and berries. The text "Friday thoughts" followed by a small heart is written in gold in the bottom right corner.

Painting Pictures

Jay Friday with natural, curly hair speaking passionately into a microphone, wearing a green dress with a black top underneath, with purple and pink stage lighting in the background.

I use poetry to paint vivid pictures. A picture can be worth a thousand words, and a poem can invoke a thousand emotions. Would you like someone to know how you feel but don’t have the words? I do! I offer commissioned poems for various occasions.

Telling Stories

Jay Friday with curly black hair wearing a brown satin blouse and a floral skirt, making a heart shape with her hands against a brown background, exemplifying being grounded and comfortable.

I use poetry to tell captivating stories. Through my art, I talk about my own experiences, and what I’ve observed thus far in life. My writing includes a variety of topics; from familial relationships, to gun violence, and everything in between. Using my creativity to capture my personal growth, and intertwining the stories of others is something I love. Life doesn’t just imitate art. Life IS art.

Healing

I use poetry to heal. I offer workshops tailored around topics such as generational curses, trauma, emotional growth, and mental health. I facilitate workshops for adults as well as youth to enable them to express themselves in productive and healthy ways.

Workshop rates vary based on length. Sliding scale rates are available for non-profit organizations as well as schools.
